As we move closer to the end of the year, many organizations are taking a look back at the year that was 2022.

The Young Fellows Club of Weyburn is no different, especially since they celebrated their Centennial this year.

"It was amazing," said President Chad Bailey. "It was a busy summer, obviously. Looking back everybody remembers the big concert we put on in the park. That was a tremendous event for us. At the end of it, we had nothing but praise, and everybody kept asking what if we're doing it next year, but that's not an annual thing.  There's a lot of work that went into that. It was all hands on deck. Plus numerous hockey teams, people we sponsor, and whoever could really came out to lend us a hand. A couple of businesses went out too."

The event was an outdoor concert at Jubilee Park and featured performances by Brayden King, Dan Cugnet, Tenille Arts and Hunter Brothers and Bailey said it went off without a hitch.

"The planning that went into that was just about a year in advance to get lined up and get sponsorships for and everything. We had our own committee designated to do that, and within that there was different categories that each person looked after so. We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather. It was, it was just beautiful out. It wasn't windy. We had one shot of rain in the afternoon which kind of scared us but it went away."

Although they won't be holding any events of that magnitude, Bailey noted there are a few things coming up in the New Year. We'll have more on that next week.
