Lots of excitement and entertainment happening on Saturday, August 19 at the Carlyle Fun Dayz. Now in its ninth year, Board Chair Tim Sedor shares what started the FREE family event.

“Carlyle being an oil field town, it started with a rough year. Not a lot of people had money. And we thought, wouldn't it be great to have an event that was somehow able to be free, bring people to our community and just show them what Carlyle” has to offer and that it's worked out really well.”

The day kicks off at 8 am with a Lions pancake breakfast at Memorial Hall. Car enthusiasts are welcome to show off their wheels in the parade, anyone wishing to join can meet at the Carlyle Workshop at 10:30 am, when the parade wraps up, drivers are invited to stay for the car show.

“This year, we're bigger and better than ever. We should have the entire Main Street blocked down, full of bouncy castles, and we have a 100-foot obstacle course that adults can also go on, actually there's a couple. There’s tons for the kids to do and then we have The Joe Show Ventriloquist, and he does some illusions and he’s one of the premier ventriloquists. We have Lazer Tag for the kids, we have a mobile game unit, there’s sales in all the stores, and we have about 10 food trucks coming out and we have entertainment on the mainstage all day,” added Sedor
