Several Saskatchewan infrastructure projects have been pushed back because of all the rain.

So, projects that received Federal Stimulus money might not be completed by March 31st, 2011. If work isn't done by then, the Federal Government is promising to pull its funding.

Souris-Moose Mountain MP Ed Komarnicki says, "it was very clear from the beginning, March 31st was a hard deadline, funding was approved with that condition and it was meant to be an economic stimulus package. With that said, there's not doubt, Saskatchewan has been affected and impacted by the weather significantly. The Prime Minister and Premier have talked about that and they are monitoring what's happening in Saskatchewan for sure."

The Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association says there are 33 projects in the province that are in danger of seeing money pulled because of the weather. Komarnicki and the Provincial Government feel most, if not all of those projects can be complete by the deadline.

"There's no doubt weather will still play a factor. My advice for everyone involved in a project is do your level best to go as far as you can as hard as you can because there is a deadline and I have encouraged everyone to accept that as such. There is an understanding that people at the highest levels are taking a look at this situation and saying where are things going to be March 31st. I am hoping anything we have going here can be done by then."

Some Municipal leaders feel flooding has put work way behind schedule and a special exemption should be given in Saskatchewan.
