The City of Weyburn has arts camps running throughout the summer, and registration begins on Monday.

Every week the camps, which take place at the Credit Union Spark Centre, will have a different theme. It costs $75 per week, and children ages 6 to 11 can attend.

“Each week will feature a brand theme, and projects and activities during that week will utilize the theme to explore various artistic mediums as well as recreational activities,” said Curator and Arts Coordinator, Regan Lanning. “The program costs $75 per week and we are able to offer it at that low cost due to a considerable donation from the Weyburn Arts Council. They donated $3,000 to this program which covers all of the artistic materials that we will be using to create all summer long.”

Lanning said everyday is a mix of art and recreation.

The following themes used at the camps:

  • July 4 to 8: Space

  • July 1 to 15: Disney

  • July 18 to 22: Exploring Nature

  • July 25 to 29: The Wild Kingdom

  • August 2 to 5: Heritage Week

  • August 8 to 12: Art Masters

  • August 15 to 19: Bug Week

  • August 22 to 26: Fantasy

Leisure Services Manager, Ryan Dale reminds those interested in registering that there is a new booking system for Leisure Services. They recently switched from Bookking.ca to the new Xplor Recreation Software.

“You can create an account with your information and create an account for your child as well, and then you can sign up right there through those portals to sign up for our camp and other programs.”

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
