Weyburn's Alexis Larson will be coming home to Saskatchewan with a silver medal.

Larson and Team Canada fell 4-1 to Russia in the women's hockey gold medal match at the 2017 Winter Universiade hosted in Kazakhstan on Monday.

Kelty Apperson scored the lone goal in the second period for Canada, with the assist from Larson's University of Regina Cougars teammate Jaycee Magwood.

Both Canada and Russia were undefeated at the tournament going into the gold medal game.
