Weyburn students are finishing up the school year today.

Students in Mrs. Wagner's Grade 2 class at Legacy Park Elementary School talked about some of the things they will miss when they are no longer in her class.

“All of my friends and my teacher.”

“Probably my classroom.”

“I might miss my teacher.”

Although the start of summer vacation is bittersweet for the students as they will miss their friends and their teacher, many of them are excited about their plans this summer.

“I’m going to have a party in July at my uncle's house and we are going canoeing.”

“I get to sit in the back of my papa’s truck and watch the fireworks.”

“I’m going to the beach and Nickle Lake so I can see Ryker and my other friends.”

The students have a new school year to look forward to when they are finished with their summer plans. There are many things they look forward to.

“Having a new teacher.”

“To write.”

“Probably going into Grade 3.”

Check out their responses in the video below.

We also asked Mrs. Renz’s Grade 6 students at St. Michael School what their plans are this summer.

“I'm pretty excited, and in summer I'm probably going to be playing with my dog and playing with my friends and going camping and hanging out with all my farm animals.”

“I'm going to Calgary and I'm might be going to BC with my cousins.”

“I'm really excited because I want to go to my aunt and uncle's cabin.”

“I'm going to go to BC, Calgary, and I'm going to go camping and hang out with my friends.”

“I want to see my cousins, and I want to go camping with my friends and stuff.”

Some students will return to St. Michael School next year, while others are going to Weyburn Comprehensive School.
