The Family Place is kicking off the New Year with a wide array of FREE programming beginning from newborn to age 5.

From crafts to music, to science experiments and baking, to parents connecting with other parents, there is a lot of fun to be had at The Family Place.

Little Lab’s Discovery began the year with an exciting experiment.

“We did a lava lamp the other day. And so that was our first class for the New Year, and we had such a great turnout,” said Jaclyn Honeysett, Program Director for The Family Place.

Also, on the list of programming is Craftastic for ages 2 to 5.

“It's just messy and it's fun, and sometimes they take it home, and sometimes it's an item that stays,” explained Honeysett.

On Wednesday afternoons, Kindermusik begins at 1 pm.

“Kindermusik is for ages 1 to 5. It's a combination of dancing, doing different activities, playing with music instruments, and just having fun.”

Thursday mornings is Bakers 2 Be which begins at 10 am.

“We cook up some fun things, we made worms and dirt the other day, so they get to crush their cookies and shake their own pudding, and then we get to all enjoy it,” shared Honeysett. “It's awesome seeing their faces, and the mess doesn't even matter, you spill, we'll clean it up.”

The Family Place also provides opportunities for parents to engage with each other. Smiles & Tears is scheduled on Tuesday mornings at 10 am which is for parents who have children from newborn to age 1. Toddler Hour is scheduled for Wednesday mornings for parents with children ages 1 and 2.

Sessions run in 6-week intervals and there are still some spots available. You can contact The Family Place at (306)842-7477 or message its Facebook page here
