A book launch is taking place Wednesday evening in Weyburn for local author, Anne Lazurko’s second novel “What is Written on the Tongue”.

The book was loosely based on the experiences of Lazurko’s father, and is about a young man’s journey through two different wars.

Lazurko recently had a launch in Saskatoon, and made the number one spot on the list of best sellers at McNally Robinson.

“We had a good turnout at the launch in Saskatoon,” said Lazurko. “Family and friends and strangers, they buy a lot of books, and it kind of puts you on that list and it makes you feel like 1,000,000 bucks because you have support from all those people.”

She added being number one on the list is also good exposure, as more people are likely to see it and want to buy it.

“It keeps more people being aware of it and more people buying it.”

Lazurko is excited for the local book launch.

“I’ve lived here for 30 years, my kids grew up here and I know so many people and it really will be a celebration for me to have it here.”

Lazurko will be reading parts of the book, and there will be a reception and book signing to follow. The event takes place Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel.
