The Weyburn Police Service arrested a man with an outstanding warrant at a traffic stop last week.

Deputy Police Chief with the Weyburn Police Service, Brent VanDeSype says officers stopped a vehicle being driven by a man suspected of having a suspended license.

“This was an individual that was known to have a suspended driver's license and an alert officer spotted the individual, conducted a traffic stop, and when they're doing the check, they realized that he also had an outstanding warrant.”

The man was charged under the traffic safety act for driving while suspended.

“As well as they were arrested and released for an upcoming court date for their warrant.”

VanDeSype says the arrest went without incident.
