The Weyburn Kin Club held their annual Twinkle Tour last night and Club Secretary Adrian Prybylski said it was a success, including having live entertainment afterward at the Wheatland Senior Centre.

"We had a wonderful evening last night," he told. "We had 45 cars behind a packed bus full of seniors and everybody else. The entire tour itself was 45 minutes. We didn't lose a car."

He said their gravy train was about 10 to 15 minutes long, "so if you were stuck in traffic because of us last night, I apologize, but it's all part of the fun, right?"

The map below shows their route, but it focused mainly on the northeast part of Weyburn, including Barber Cresent, Brimbacombe Drive, Ash Drive, and more.

"The Kin Club really enjoys doing Twinkle tour," commented Prybylski. "It's one of the one opportunities we have where we just give back to the community. There's no cost to anybody. It's an old tradition, and it was a great way to get senior citizens out into the community and as the years have progressed, we've kind of elevated it into this conga line of families joining behind the tour buses because, I mean, who doesn't like looking at Christmas lights? You might drive around in the evening and not know where to go, but now the map just helps you hit those hotspots, right?"

He said the Kin Club members either bake or purchase baking for the after-party.

"It's just one thing we like to do for the community. We provide some live entertainment at the end this year, we asked R.D. Jones to perform at Twinkle Tour for us this year, and she was amazing," Prybylski noted.

music performerWeyburn's R.D. Jones sang some oldies and some Christmas songs for the Kin Club's Twinkle Tour on Thursday.

"She had lots of songs, a good repertoire of music, and I was toe-taping and everybody was singing and clapping along and giving her good praise after each song. It was fantastic I plan to invite her again. It was just a really another good addition to what we could provide back to the people who attended."

He added they love to give back to the community by getting people together.
