Today is the last day for the Weyburn Young Fellows Online Auction.

Some of the biggest ticket items include barbecues, and dinner with Weyburn's Mayor Marcel Roy.

Auction Organizer Shane Warner said a couple of the items they added just last week may be of interest to those last-minute bidders.

"There are Meet & Greets with Hunter Brothers and Tenille Arts that would take place at our Centennial Concert," he shared, noting these items were added a week into the auction, "so probably not as many views of some of the items that were not in for the full duration of the auction."

He said there are two of each, with four people being able to get in on the Meet & Greet.

As for the highest bidders, Warner said, "One of the really popular items every year is the used tubing, people use it to make agricultural items. Dinner with Mayor Roy is getting up there."

As well, as are barbecues and smokers, gym memberships, and tickets to Saskatchewan Roughriders games.

"This is actually our 65th annual auction," he said. "And at least for recent history, it is our largest fundraiser of the year. This is where we bring in most of our funds that we're able to disperse to various community organizations. So it's really awesome to see such good support."

So far, the YF have exceeded their goal by a few thousand dollars.

"It's always awesome to be able to say that we exceeded our target. So yeah, really happy about that, just thanks everybody for the support, our donors, and all the people bidding," he commented.

While many bidders are eagerly awaiting the results at the close of bids tonight at 7:00 p.m., Warner said some like to wait until the last minute.

"Last year a good portion of the bids did come in on the last day. I think a lot of people kind of want to see where things shake out, and hopefully can get a deal on something. So who knows where we'll end up this year. Last year we exceeded our goal by $10,000."

Items will be invoiced at the close of the auction, and pickup will take place at the YF tree shack (behind the Prairie Sky Co-op food store), on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

"So anytime then, you can swing by, pick up your items, and if you're not able to make it, then just reach out to us, and we can make alternate arrangements."
