There is a chance more severe weather could make its way through Weyburn today.

The latest thunderstorm outlook from Environment Canada indicated there is a moderate risk of a severe thunderstorm, with high winds, hail, and substantial rainfall. This risk of a thunderstorm is on top of the heat that has enveloped the province, and the risk of more smoke blowing into the region from northern Saskatchewan.

The thunderstorms are expected across a wide area of the province, including the Weyburn area. The trigger for the storms is a band of humid, cooler air passing through. The area that could see the storms, which is south of the Trans-Canada, can expect upwards of 20 millimetres of rain, accompanied by winds gusting up to 110 kilometres an hour, and hail.

Behind this system is more heat and humidity, with the daytime high for tomorrow expected to be 32°, with the humidex making it feel much hotter. Stay up to date with the latest forecast by checking the Discover Weyburn Weather page.
