The Vilcu Academy of Martial Arts held a tournament over the weekend and saw a successful turnout. Isaac Vilcu said there were 208 competitors, the largest competitor turnout in two decades for the club. There were also more than 300 spectators. 

The local Vilcu's club placed fourth overall, and individuals won medals in the following categories: 

For Boys & Girls Sparring / White-Yellow / 8-9 Years Group 1, Caleb Croteau got a bronze medal. 

In the Boys & Girls Kata / White-Yellow / 5 Years And Under category, Summer Vansteelandt won the silver.

Blaire Wilson took the silver in the Boys & Girls Sparring / Orange-Green / 10-11 Years; Boston Wilson got a silver in the Boys & Girls Sparring / Orange-Green / 12-13 Years.

Lila Fitzpatrick earned a gold in the Girl's Sparring / Orange-Green / 14-15 Years and a bronze in the Boys & Girls  Weapon Forms / Green-Brown / 15 To 17 Years.

Summer Vansteelandt won silver in the Boys & Girls  Weapon Sparring / White-Yellow / 5 Years and Under.

In the Boys & Girls  Weapon Sparring / White-Yellow / 10-11 Years, Chase Furgason  won the silver, and Noah Marques the bronze.

Aaliyah Vansteelandt came away with a silver in the Boys & Girls Weapon Sparring / White-Yellow / 14-15 Years.

Boston Wilson took the silver in the Boys & Girls Weapon Sparring / Orange-Green / 12-13 Years.

Lila Fitzpatrick won gold in the Girl's Weapon Sparring / Orange-Green / 14-15 Years.

In the Adult Kata / White-Yellow3 category, Dean Karcha took the Bronze.

In the Men's Kata / Black Belt / 60 To 69 Years, Harry Ohrn took the silver. Harold Vilcu won the silver in the Men's Kata / Black Belt / 70 Years + category.

Dean Karcha took the silver for the Men's Sparring / White-Yellow / 35 To 51 Years and gold in the Men's Weapon Sparring / Yellow-Orange category.

Troy Mcclelland took gold in the Men's Sparring / Black Belt / 35 To 51 Years category, and silver in the Men's Weapon Sparring / Black Belt / 35 To 51 Years.

Elias Marques won silver in the Women's Sparring / White-Yellow / 35 To 51 Years category, the gold in the Women's Weapon Forms / White-Orange / 35 To 51 Years, and silver for the Women's Weapon Sparring / White-Yellow / 35 To 51 Years.
