The Saskatchewan government confirmed five more cases of COVID-19 Thursday, along with four recoveries. There are now 48 active cases of the virus in the province.

Of the five new cases, two are in the South region, one in Saskatoon, one in the Far North and one in the Central region. The total number of active cases in the South region is now seven.

In addition to confirming the new cases Thursday, the province also outlined the guidelines for re-opening temporary food vendors, racing and rodeos, banquet and conference facilities as well as car shows and trade shows. Guidelines were also clarified for public and farmers markets as well as live entertainment in bars and restaurants.

For public and farmers markets, seating areas are now permitted. Physical distancing between tables is required, and only those of the same group should be sitting together.

For live performances, they will be permitted as of July 16th in restaurants and licensed establishments. Physical distancing will still be required, however, dance floors and karaoke are not yet permitted at this time.

The provincial government is also currently working on developing guidelines for garage sales and the donation of used items. A timeline for those to be implemented will be determined at a later date.
