The St. Louis Blue have inked Weyburn’s Derrick Pouliot to a one-year, two-way contract. He was one of five players signed by the Stanley Cup Champions on the first day of NHL free agency.

The contract will pay Pouliot $700,000 in NHL salary, although it is anticipated he will be spending time with the Blues’ AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.

Pouliot has spent the past two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks. Over 133 games, the defenseman has picked up six goals and 28 assists. In his NHL career, he has played 200 games and recorded 48 points.
