The 12th Biennial Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show kicked off yesterday at the Weyburn exhibition grounds.

Day one featured a cold, wet day outside but a warm atmosphere indoors.

The day featured an afternoon luncheon with guest speaker Marvin Romanow, CFO and Executive Vice President of Nexens Incorporated.

As well as the Saskatchewan Oilman of the Year going to Stoughton's Trent Yanko founder and president of Mission Oil and Gas.

Day one also featured 6 inductees into the hall of fame including Weyburn's Lawrence Woodard.

The exhibits open at 8 today and will run until 3:30.
