Avra May Geisbrecht from Pheasant Rump Nakota First Nation recently gave the CMHA Weyburn Branch a generous donation of $250.

Geisbrecht, who is only nine years old, is the current Nakota First Nation Princess, and is running to take the crown once again.

The donation was made on behalf of her sister who struggles with her mental health, her uncle who she lost in relation to mental health concerns, as well as her community. While mental health is a big focus, she is helping many other causes as well.

“We always continue to do food hampers, and giving toys to children who don’t have stuff like that,” said Geisbrecht’s mother, Stephanie Beaudry. “We’ve actually been doing this for years.”

She has also helped out with Warriors of Hope Community Support inc. in Regina with their summer breakfast program, and is currently raising money for community youth with pop bottles.
