The demolition of the old Soo Theatre has been ongoing this week. For this reason, the northbound lane of Third Street in the 100 block is blocked off and drivers are asked to use an alternate route.

The original, 75-year-old Soo Theatre sign came down late on Monday, and the east wall was removed on Tuesday.

With most of the remaining standing structure torn down Wednesday, and only a small portion of the south wall left to bring down, most of the photos in the gallery below were taken Wednesday evening amid the rubble.

There is much left to do now to complete the project, including the sorting, which will result in some of the bricks being made available for the nostalgic who would like souvenirs. Read more from Ryan Janke with the Weyburn Theatre Community Service Cooperative on that HERE.

The video below was filmed Thursday morning, showing the sorting process is already well underway.
