Three people are facing charges after a home robbery near Ardill last month.  

The RCMP released no specific date for the incident. They did state a person was threatened with a firearm, assaulted, and robbed. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries, which were said to be non-life-threatening. The investigation into the incident also uncovered that a firearm was pointed at the victim in a separate incident involving one of the suspects from the robbery.  

Last Thursday, RCMP executed a search warrant on a home in Ardill, north of Assiniboia along Highway 2. The RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team assisted with the execution of the warrant. Police said they found and seized four firearms, as well as ammunition, from the residence. Two people were taken into custody, while the third was arrested at a home in Mossbank.  

Sixty-four-year-old Kevin Lacasse from Ardill was charged with two counts of pointing a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and unsafe storage of a firearm.  

Also charged is 24-year-old Chaze Kober from Mossbank. They are charged with assault with a weapon, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, using a firearm in a careless manner, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, possessing a firearm while prohibited, and robbery with a firearm.  

The third suspect, 40-year-old Benjamin Knudson from Ardill, is charged with assault with a weapon, robbery, and unauthorized possession of a firearm. He was also arrested for breaching a conditional sentence order.  

The three suspects made an appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court last Friday.
