Exhibitors are battling the winter weather as they move equipment not only across the province, but the country as they try to get ready for the show which officially opens to the public on Wednesday.

Show Manager David Fiddler says Agri-Trade is a popular event for producers with all aspect of the agriculture industry featured at the three day show.

He says with the show taking place after harvest, it's the perfect time for farmers to take part as they start thinking about their cropping plans for the next growing season.

"Agri-Trade is a show that's focused on business. It's not a consumer trade show you don't get a lot of urban people that come to it. It's farmers coming to do business with equipment manufacturers, retailers and the technology and services that surround the business of agriculture."

Agri-Trade features 500 exhibitors and about 30,000 visitors each year.

Fiddler says they see visitors from right across Western Canada, as well as a few international visitors.

"We have quite a big international component coming from Scotland, Europe and other countries right around the globe."

Agri-Trade has also been selected as the show in North America for German manufacturers to introduce their technology to the market.

Other international exhibitors are coming from the United States and Hungary.

Show hours are 9 am to 5 pm Wednesday, November 9th to Friday, November 11th at Westener Park in Red Deer.

A complete list of exhibitors is available on the Red Deer Agri-Trade website.
