The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings threw everything they could at the Humboldt Broncos Friday night, but goaltender Rayce Ramsay was near unbeatable, as the Broncos skated to a 4-0 win over the Red Wings at Crescent Point Place. The loss was the eighth in a row for the Red Wings, who are now 3-9-3 on the season. The skid is the longest since the Wings lost ten in a row in the 2018-19 season.

The loss was the second game in a row the Red Wings had been shut out. Weyburn has now gone 136 minutes and 13 seconds without a goal, with the last goal coming against the Broncos on October 30th.

Matthew Perkins scored twice for the Broncos, including an empty-netter in the final minute. He also had assists on goals by Kade Olsen and Cody Hough.

The two winningest teams in the history of the SJHL, there was a little bit of an edge to the game, with the two teams combining for 102 penalty minutes. This included 36 minutes in penalties resulting from a scrum at the final buzzer.

The Wings will be looking to bounce back when they are back on the ice Saturday against the Melville Millionaires. This game was originally scheduled to be played on September 24th, but was rescheduled at the request of the Millionaires. The puck drops on the game at 8:00 p.m. at Crescent Point Place.
