Art in its various mediums is often used as a tool to healthfully manage mental health. Beginning in October, Dana Kot will be leading a series of two different evening art programs at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Weyburn Branch. One program is for all ages, the second program is for adults only, classes are FREE to attend but advance registration is required.

“We will be offering two different kinds of classes, the second Wednesday of each month we are going to be offering art classes for all ages, we’re just asking that participants under the age of 14 be accompanied by an adult,” explained Tasha Collins, Director of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Weyburn Branch.

“Dana is a community volunteer who has a lot of interest in art, she does all the planning she is a wonderful volunteer, this year we have a second volunteer so we can offer it to more people, both of them with interests in art, and they’ve come up with some really great ideas,” said Collins. “The art classes will be held on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month, we just ask that people register the last week prior.”
