The Federal Agriculture Minister is confident the Canadian Wheat Board and grain companies will reach handling agreements.

The CWB says it needs to finalize these agreements before it can offer any pricing options to producers.

Speaking at Grainworld in Winnipeg, Ritz says he still believes there's no need to give the CWB regulated access to handling facilities.

"I think those will happen of course we're staying out of that there is no need for politics in those agreements this is a commercial agreement, and speaking with Ian White who's with us in Washington says they have had some great discussions with some of the major handlers and some of the smaller players as well and look forward to some announcements very soon."

He points out grain companies are always looking to increase volume, so they have a significant incentive to complete deals with the new CWB.
