Root Bound gets clothing section

Root Bound, a plant shop in Weyburn, recently came under new ownership and has teamed up with an Estevan-based business.

The store now has a clothing section. This extension began after Melanie Hiske took over as the manager earlier this month.  

“While brainstorming all the plant stuff I knew I had a vision in my head of what I wanted, and so I talked to Jenny Pettitt of Jenny Joans in Estevan, I've known her for years,” said Hiske. “She's a friend, and I still work there, I've been there for 10 plus years on and off. So, I asked her what she thinks about having Jenny Joans in Weyburn.” 

Hiske said many of Jenny Pettitt's customers are from Weyburn.  

“She has a lot of customers from Weyburn that would order online and have to pay for shipping, so it actually was perfect timing, and her store is nice and full and she came and looked at the space and was thrilled with it.”   

Hiske added she wants customers to feel like they are always welcome in the store.  

“I have a really cool seating area. If someone wants to just come in and have a coffee with me, they totally can. I just want everyone to feel welcome.” 

Root Bound is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
