Weyburnites can now skip the line-up at Sarcan Recycling.

The Weyburn company recently opened their Drop'n'Go service for busy locals to drop off beverage containers for recycling. This option allows people that are in a hurry to bypass the line and be back on their way quickly.

The deposit refunds can then be received electronically through PayPal or by cheque. Signing up for this service can be done on a touch screen at the drop-off location. Once signed up all recyclers can login, tag their bags, drop them off and be on their way.

"Obviously our staff are still needed at the depot to handle the containers and process them and process the payments so certainly there's no staff in jeopardy of losing their jobs" said executive director for the Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop Andria Brady.

"If you're a non-profit group or an organization and you're raising money with bottle drives this is a great way to generate funds for your group," said Brady. "Say the Humane Society is doing some bottle drives and say you couldn't make it or you were out of town, what you can do is bring your bottles in and log into their account and your containers will go towards the Humane Society".

Drop'n'Go is available during SARCAN's regular hours of 9 to 5 from Monday to Friday (with the exception of Wednesdays from noon to one). SARCAN is hoping to extend their hours in the near future. The entrance for the Drop'n'Go service is around the back of the SARCAN building. There are signs guiding patrons towards the drop off entrance and a large sign above the door that said Sarcan Recycling Drop'n'Go. CLICK HERE for more information.
