The 18U and 15U Saskatchewan field lacrosse teams both brought home bronze medals in the field lacrosse nationals in Fredericton, New Brunswick. 

Three local athletes participated on the 15U Field Lacrosse Team, including Weyburn athletes Sawyer Leko and Ryder Hignett, and Jack Missal from Yellow Grass.

On Friday, Team Saskatchewan had two wins over Manitoba, and New Brunswick. Day two saw Team Saskatchewan lose to British Columbia and Ontario, but defeat Nova Scotia. The team saw an early morning win against Quebec on day three. 

After round-robin play, Team Saskatchewan finished 3rd with a 4-2 record putting them directly to the bronze medal game.

On Sunday afternoon, Team Saskatchewan defeated Quebec 16 - 5 to bring the bronze medal home to Saskatchewan.

Lacrosse is not over yet for Ryder Hignett and Sawyer Leko, as both are members of the 16U Regina Royals A Field Lacrosse Club.
