Although it won't be home to Weyburn youngsters until the fall of 2021, the new super elementary school needs a name.

Currently just being referred to as the "Weyburn Elementary School", the Southeast Cornerstone Public School Division sent out a release yesterday afternoon unveiling their new contest. The school division is asking for public submissions for the facility.

The selection committee is looking for something that encompasses a few things: the community and family focus of the school, the architectural theme of "A School in the Park" and the young pre-school to Grade 6 student body that will attend the school.

The submitter of the winning name will be invited to attend and take part in the grand opening of the school in 2021.

Submissions can be emailed to gord.husband@secpsd.ca or dropped off in person at the SECPSD office in Weyburn. The submission deadline is Monday, May 27.
