The U18 AAA Southeast Twins opened the 2022 season on the road Saturday, playing a doubleheader in Swift Current against the 57s. 

The Twins would come out swinging in the first game, and won 12-2, with the game called after six innings. This was followed up with a 15-4 win in the second game, called after five innings. 

In the first game of the day, the Twins were led by Spencer Copeland, Hunter Stewart and Cooper Walbaum, who had two RBIs each. Brody Dorrance and Callum Hollinger also picked up RBIs in the victory.  

Aiden Trimble got the start on the mound and picked up the win. He went three innings, striking out eight and allowing just one earned run. Kade Phillips finished the game off with three innings, striking out four.  

Carson Rokochy was credited with the loss on the mound for the 57s. 

In the second game of the day, baserunning would prove to be a key to the victory, with eight stolen bases for the Twins. Dorrance would notch two more RBIs, with Ty Fehrenbach, Hollinger, Connor Kerr, Phillips and Nathan Yunick driving in two runs each as well. Also driving in runs were Trimble and Walbaum. 

Hunter Stewart went four innings on the mound, striking out three and allowing two earned runs en route to the win. Mitch Himmelspach pitched the final innings, allowing one hit.  

Connor Choo Foo took the loss on the mound for Swift Current. 

The South East Twins will be back in action Sunday afternoon, as they take on the Moose Jaw Canucks for a doubleheader at Ross Wells Park. They play their home opener this coming Saturday at Lynn Prime Park, entertaining the East Central Red Sox.
