Southern Range Well Servicing is holding a barbeque on Thursday, with all of the funds raised going to the Weyburn Humane Society.

The barbeque takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the gazebo in Riverside Park.

“The reason I'm having this fundraiser is that I have a soft spot for pets," said Southern Range Well Servicing president Ron Newett. “I know the Humane Society has kind of been struggling over the years, their building is getting old and I think they're hoping to get a new building.”

Newett added he is going to make a donation and hopes others in the community will as well.

“I invite everyone to come down and have a bite to eat, and if they'd like to make a donation, we have a jar set up for donations. We hope to see everyone come out.”

Wheelie Cool Treats will also be selling ice cream and other frozen treats.

Southern Range has some sponsors helping them put on the event.

“Western Prime Meats is donating the barbeque, and Co-op is donating drinks and refreshments.”

Staff members from the Humane Society will also be helping out.

The cost for a hamburger, cheeseburger, or hotdog with a drink will be $5.
