The community came out to celebrate Saturday morning, as the Weyburn Credit Union Spark Centre was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“It is a wonderful facility,” said Weyburn Mayor Marcel Roy, who cut the ribbon while flanked by the members of the City Council. “I want everybody to come own and see it and enjoy it.”

Those who came down to the opening were able to take in demonstrations of the various facets of the building, including Mainil Field, the MNP Playground, the art gallery, help paint the community mural, and a lot more.

“It’s hard to put into words what this is going to mean for people in Weyburn and in the area,” added Dustin Duncan, MLA for Weyburn-Big Muddy. “I’ve been fortunate to travel to different cities and different provinces, and I’m not sure I’ve seen anything like this.”
