Parents who are hoping to keep the kids busy this summer, but are on a budget and want to do so affordably, can take advantage of the free swims for kids being held three afternoons a week at the Weyburn Leisure Centre.

Swimming for kids ages 6 to 17 is being sponsored on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. by three local organizations for the entire summer.

"We've partnered with the City and the Leisure Centre this year, and we're sponsoring one afternoon of free swims a week, on Mondays," shared Jeff Clay with the Weyburn Agricultural Society.

He said they are just trying to give back to the community.

"Our motto is to educate and entertain our youth and communities, so we want to do what we can to give back," he added.

The Weyburn Agricultural Society is currently hosting the 113th annual Weyburn Fair Days. Read more HERE

On Wednesday afternoons the free swims are sponsored by the Weyburn Rotary Club, and on Friday afternoons, kids can swim for free thanks to Fletcher Funeral Chapel.

Parents or guardians can get in at the regular rate of $6.50, or, to just watch the swimmers, it's $2.00. Children age five and under always swim for free.
