Get ready to explore regional parks across the province this summer by borrowing a park pass at your local library.

From May 18th to September 15th, 2023, Saskatchewan Library card holders can borrow a Regional Park Pass for up to seven days. The pass gives free access to nearly 100 Regional Parks throughout Saskatchewan.

The program was created through a partnership between the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association, the Saskatchewan Regional Parks Association, and the Saskatchewan Library Association.

The Regional Park System is unique to Saskatchewan. Each park is different and offers a variety of activities to choose from. Available amenities include camping, swimming, boating, fishing, sports grounds and golf courses. Fees for these activities are not included with the park pass.

The Southeast Regional library website states that a copy of the Saskatchewan Regional Parks Guide featuring park descriptions, photos, directions, amenities and maps of all locations is available with your pass.

The lending program is a pilot project. Passes are available at all 46 Southeast branches, including the Southeast Regional Library branch in Weyburn. Passes must be checked out with a valid library card in person, and are first come, first served.

Borrowed passes must be returned to the branch they were borrowed from. For more information about the program and to borrow a park pass, speak with your local librarian.
