We told you last week about a local woman who has been unable to come back to Canada to visit from Costa Rica for the past two years.

Weyburn's Jennifer LaCharite may not currently be able to come visit her homeland, but she has still been keeping busy celebrating her new home in Playas del Coco, Costa Rica.

"I've managed to get some freelance writing opportunities. I've worked for a few companies here on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, and I basically write blogs for them, do some monthly newsletters and optimize their content on their websites just by changing words, that makes their websites more searchable, some editing," she shared.

She said her blogs are for tourists.

"For the tourism market, and they all talk about Costa Rica basically, and some fun things about it. I work for a surfing company in Tamarindo, and a fishing company for fishing charters, so if you're thinking about coming to Costa Rica, there's some great information in those blogs."

LaCharite publishes the blogs on her own site.

"It's taken a while to get to this point where I'm making enough money to pay for rent and stuff like that, but it's been gradually building," she noted, adding this was after about a year of not making anything due to having only moved there a few months before COVID.

"So if you're thinking about making them move to Costa Rica, that's that's how I did it," she shared.

LaCharite explained she has helped a friend start a company called Costa Concierge, aimed at helping those who want to relocate to the Central American country.

"That is to help people to move down here and deal with residency and shipping and things like that."
