On Monday, the Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan issued notice that its members could take strike action as early as this afternoon at 1.

As a result, the Sun Country Health Region is prepared to implement its emergency contingency plan.

Vice President of Human Resources Don Ehman says in the event of a strike, hospital care, emergency room care and home care will be provided, while ambulance services will be reduced slightly, and admission to long term care centres will be provided on an emergency basis only; services such as dental health education and physiotherapy will be reduced or suspended altogether.
