Are you a barbeque king, or master of the smoker?

Something new and it is mouth-watering will be happening on August 5th at the Oungre Memorial Reginal Park. From 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., the park will be hosting a Tailgate Cook-Off, where you can enter your signature dish or just go and taste-test the entries.

"So if you barbeque, or use a smoker, or have like a specialty dish that you want to cook, you'll give a bite-sized sample to everyone who buys tickets," explained organizer Taylor Rein.

"It'll be a people's choice vote, so everyone will vote on their favorites and we will have cash prizes for first, second, and third place."

Tickets are $20 each, and $10 for children ages 12 and under, which gets you in to sample the food. The entry fee to compete is $100, unless you do register soon.

"The first five teams to register will have a discounted registration so it will be $75 instead of the $100 registration fee."

She said teams of two, who need to come up with a team name as well, can compete to win some great prizes.

"Our first place prize is $500, the second place is $250, and third place will be $100."

Of course, like any event with cash prizes, there will be some rules.

"It cant be served on a bun," said Rein. "It has to be bite-sized portions, and you provide your own meat."

Side dishes, like salads, fries, and more, will be provided. For the parents, there will be beer gardens, and for the kids, there will also be a booth with hot dogs and activities.
