Weyburn Tourism will host a High Tea event at the Soo Line Historical Museum on the Queen's Jubilee, June 25th beginning at 10:00 a.m.

"The idea behind it was to showcase our silver collection at the Soo Line Museum. Truly, it's a world class display", said Executive Director with Weyburn Tourism, Larry Heggs. "It's the world's largest personal silver collection and we just we wanted to bring it to a forefront."

Speeches will be delivered and tea will be served at 2:00 p.m.

"We are pleased to announce that His Honour the Honourable Russ Mirasty, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, and Her Honour Donna Mirasty will be in attendance."

He said the event will be held in a tent on the museum grounds, and he hopes it will be a great day for family, with free museum tours, bouncy houses, face-painting and more.

"There's going to be bouncy houses and face painting, and some choirs singing, and an opportunity to get out and tour the museum and see some of the great things that we've got in the community. We're going to have a stage up by the old caboose and then we'll have our speeches and high tea and a tent off to that side. We'll have an opportunity to get in and see the silver collection, as well as the rest of that great museum we have to offer."

"Really, it'll be a celebration of the Queen's Jubilee and the Silver Collection and the Soo Line Museum itself."

Heggs said tea and dainties will be served free of charge, but there are only 200 tickets in all.

"There's already 75 of them gone, so I suspect we're going to sell out. I think it's a great great opportunity for everyone right? I mean, it's a great opportunity for mom and dad to come with the kids or grandma and grandpa to come with the grandkids or or the whole family all together. Come early and do the bouncy houses with the kids and bring the kids to the tea. There are no age restrictions, so we would really encourage everybody just to come out and enjoy it and see how great the museum really is."

In the case of inclement weather, Heggs noted the tent will also have sides.
