With temperatures expected to reach the mid-thirties today, residents are advised to limit their time in the sun.

Doctor Tania Diener is the Medical Health Officer for the Regina-Qu'Appelle Health Region.

She says you should limit your time outside between the hours of 11 and 4, wear appropriate clothing, use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least fifteen, and keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding beverages like coffee and alcohol.

According to Doctor Diener, prolonged exposure to the sun can lead to heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and the more serious heat collapse.

Individuals suffering from the heat should be moved to a cooler area where they can be rehydrated.
