The Weyburn Police Service responded to a report of a residential break and enter on Sunday, April 22nd, but that's not what they found.

The incident was actually an altercation between two people who knew each other.

"They had an altercation and involved the weapon," said Deputy Chief Brent VanDeSype. "One of the individuals did sustain an injury where they attended the hospital. They were treated and released, so it was not life threatening. But anytime there's a weapon involved and there's an altercation and someone is injured, that certainly adds to the element of of the offense."

The two adults have been charged with failing to comply with conditions of their release, as well as assault with a weapon, and one of the individuals was also charged with uttering threats.

Two other adults in another incident were also charged for assault on Friday of last week.

"These are two adults that are known to each other, had a physical altercation, and both individuals ended up being charged with assault and one of the individuals was also charged with mischief to property."
