The U15 AA Annugas Wings were looking to pick up some crucial points Wednesday night when they took the ice against the Moose Jaw Warriors at Crescent Point Place. The Warriors entered the game with a four-point edge on Weyburn for 7th place in the SAAHL South Division standings, but Weyburn had two games in hand. The Wings would come away with a 5-4 win thanks to a five-point performance from Aidan Mohan and closed the gap to just two points while keeping the two games in hand.

The Warriors would open the scoring at the 6:38 mark of the first period when Nixon Friesen got the puck past Weyburn netminder Connor Brady. The lead would last less than two and a half minutes, though, as the Wings replied with a goal from Mohan.

His 23rd of the season, assisted by Wade Franks and Brody Morrice, made it a 1-1 game. Then, with 3:10 left to play in the first period, Franks scored a power-play goal to give the home team the edge. The goal was assisted by Kaleb Sheasby and Mohan.

Mohan would net his second of the night and 24th of the season 8:52 into the second period, with Morrice and Sheasby assisting on the tally. Then, Morrice scored with 8:57 remaining in the middle frame to make it 4-1 Weyburn. His goal was assisted by Mohan and Reid Kosior.

The Warriors would respond when Ryan Gibbs found the back of the net with just 27 seconds remaining in the second, making it 4-2 Weyburn after 40 minutes.

The Warriors were determined to rally back in the third period and would get within a goal with 9:35 left to play in regulation. The goal from Like Pratte was then followed up with a marker from Carson Deichert with 5:15 to play, evening things up 4-4.

Then, with just 44 seconds on the clock, Morrice netted his second of the game to give the Wings the 5-4 victory. The tally was assisted by Emerson Callander and Mohan.

The Wings will now take on the Broncos Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at Crescent Point Place. This will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams, with Swift Current winning in the first matchup.
