The U18 AA John Hulbert Construction Wings threw everything but the kitchen sink at the net during Wednesday night’s game against Prairie Storm at Crescent Point Place. However, just two of their 48 shots would bulge the twine, as Prairie Storm left town with a 3-2 victory.
The visitors would come out to an early lead, with Kaden Corbin scoring just 1:11 into the game, then Ryder Walker made it 2-0 at the 5:55 mark. In the second period, Walker notched his second of the game with 12:58 to go in the frame to make it 3-0.
Then, the Wings started to mount a comeback. With 4:49 to go in the second period, Blaise Jorgensen scored his third of the season, assisted by Carter Gervais and Nathan Peterson. Then, with 3:26 left in the middle period, Carson Palmer scored his fourth of the campaign, an unassisted marker, to make it 3-2.
That would be as close as Weyburn would get, though, Prairie Storm netminder Seth Carroll stopped all 19 shots he faced in the final period to preserve the win. At the other end of the ice, Ryder Dunn would stop 23 of the 26 shots he faced in the game.
The Wings will be back in action on November 24th, when they host the Regina Rangers at Crescent Point Place.
