There is a new exhibition at the Weyburn Art Gallery, which was created with an unusual medium: coffee.

"Collected and Caffeinated" by local artist Lauren Daae is in the gallery until October 31st.

“When you walk in, you're going to think, oh, watercolors,” said Arts Coordinator and City Curator, Regan Lanning. “But they're all done in brown, so they almost look like they're in sepia, and instead of using watercolors, this artist uses coffee.”

She added this is an uncommon medium to work with.

“It's fascinating to think about how she achieves this variety of tone simply using the brown.”

An artist reception is taking place on Friday, September 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Weyburn Art Gallery.
