Weyburn's Heritage Village has fully reopened this summer for the first time since the pandemic.

Things have been quite busy at the replica village, with many people coming out for tours.

“We shared a lot of fun days and activities with the community,” said Tour Coordinator, Tori Mahnke. “[We’ve had] lots of people from around Canada and we've had some from the states too.”

Anyone interested in a tour can call 306-842-6377, or show up between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Mahnke added she is excited about Heritage Village Days, which will be taking place on August 5 and 6.

“It's been quite a long time since we've been able to do our full annual Village Days with as many people as we can, and we're planning to restore things to the way they used to be, but 10 times bigger if possible.”

There will be many activities at the annual Village Days, such as rope making, butter making, and sheep herding.

“We're going to set up a face painting booth on one of the days, and there's going to be some rug making demonstrations on one of the days along with the ice cream demonstration.”

The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on August 5, and from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on August 6.

“We're doing our opening ceremonies on Saturday morning, and on both days we're going to have some live entertainment.”

Heritage Village is currently seeking volunteers to help with general maintenance such as painting and mowing the lawn.
