There are only just a few days left to get in on the Weyburn Humane Society's Save a Dog, Drive a Bronco raffle fundraiser. The draw will be made during a barbeque event being held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Great Plains Ford.

"We are finally having the draw for the Bronco on Saturday at Great Plains Ford at 1:00 p.m., so Friday night is your deadline to buy tickets," said Fundraising Committee Co-Chair with the WHS, Naomi Happy.

She said ticket sales have been up and down, but they have sold around 1,200 tickets so far out of the 2,000 available.

"There's about 800 left, so I don't believe we're going to sell out, but I'm happy regardless," she shared, noting they were able to fundraise after selling the first 570 tickets.

The funds will go toward a new shelter on East Avenue.

"As most people know, the shelter is currently not in the greatest condition, and we want to get out of there sooner rather than later, so we decided to do something a little bit bigger than our smaller fundraisers that we've done in the past, and we worked together as a team, and this fundraiser will go directly into our building fund," Happy explained, saying they're looking at a few different options for plans to get rolling in 2024. "We've just got to make sure that the funds are in place."

Purchase tickets by contacting 306-861-2362 to be set up via e-transfer, or you can stop by the shelter.

"Tickets are $100 apiece, and that has you eligible for all three prizes," she stated. "First place is the 2023 Ford Bronco, 2nd place is $3,000 cash and 3rd place is $2,000."

She said this Bronco is a 'GOAT' edition, which can 'go on all terrain'.

"Can you imagine driving a Bronco for 100 bucks? I hope that somebody in Weyburn wins it," she added.
