This is the second year that Weyburn’s McDonalds has held a coffee fundraiser for the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation.

Ten cents from every cup of coffee sold has been donated to the foundation, for a total of $8,000.

The foundation recently raised enough money for the new hospital facility, and switched their fundraising over to equipment.

“Right now, of course, the whole project is going on with the build, and that's going on, but we've met our commitment on that,” Jeff Hayward Chair of the Weyburn District Hospital Foundation said. “So right now, all money that we raise, we're putting into equipment that can be used at the present hospital and transferred over to the new hospital once that's built.”

He added that there isn’t anything that the hospital needs specifically at the moment, but the foundation is waiting to see what they will need in the coming year, as their equipment becomes outdated.

Hayward is thankful to Weyburn’s McDonalds, and owner Amir Aminpour for their support.

“I would just like to say thanks to Amir and his crew out at McDonald's, the hardworking crew out there for again supporting the foundation. Every little bit helps.”

The cheque presentation took place last Friday.
