The Weyburn Artistic Swimming’s competitive club travelled to Regina on the weekend to compete in the Sadie Caulder Knight Provincials. 

Things began on Saturday with the figure competitions for each age group, with Ava Donison getting 15th and Sierra Dammann getting 19th in the 12U, and Ella Leko getting 10th, Lily Popescu getting 16th, and Avery Wilson getting 22nd in the 15U. 

Routines took place on Saturday evening.  

In the 12U duet, Ava Donison and Sierra Dammann came in 6th place, scoring 50.0666. They were coached by Megan Dammann. In the 15U Solos, 1st place went to Luly Popescu, scoring 57.0167. She was coached by Tracey Rothwell. Avery Wilson got 4th place, scoring 54.3167. She was coached by Tracey Rothwell.  

Sunday morning started off with the Junior Free duets. 

Payton Caldwell and Ella Leko came in second, winning the silver medal. They scored 57.9000, and were coached by Kim Neithercut and Meagan Rothwell. Megan Dammann and Marley Kradovill came in 5th, scoring 54.9333. They were coached by Kim Neithercut and Meagan Rothwell. 

The final event was the Team competition, with the South East Connections Team winning the Gold medal in the Junior Free Team event with a score of 58.4833. The team is made up of athletes from the Weyburn Artistic Swimming club and Estevan Mermaids for the 2022 SK Winter Games. 

Athletes will be traveling to Winnipeg from April 29 to May 1 for the Canadian Prairie Championship to complete their competitive season.
