A number of the churches in Weyburn are holding services this Easter, beginning as early as today (Thursday).

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church will be having a Holy Thursday mass at 7:00 p.m. tonight. According to their Grand Knight Richard Wick, the Last Supper is recognized at this service and Father will wash the feet of 12 volunteers. 

Tomorrow for Good Friday, the Stations of the Cross will be carried out in a very moving procession downtown Weyburn at 10:00 a.m. "If the weather is inclement there is also the Stations of the Cross inside the church for those who cannot manage the outside procession."

"The Good Friday service is being held at 3:00 p.m., and though it is not a mass, it is a service where we witness Christ dying on the cross."

Then, St. Vincent de Paul will host an Easter Vigil mass on Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. "This is a lengthy service and readings regarding creation are among the scriptures read at this mass." 

"Easter Sunday service will be held is the day we hope all Catholics, all Christians, gather in a place of worship to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The mass times at St. Vincent de Paul are the usual Sunday times, 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

"The Knights of Columbus and the St. Vincent de Paul parish community ask the many Catholic families, and invite all families, to attend this weekend’s masses, and all masses through the year, but especially the Easter masses on Sunday. There was good attendance by families at the Christmas masses this past year and it would be great to see even better attendance at the Easter masses."

Silver Heights Bible Church will host a Good Friday service at 11:00 a.m. and on Sunday morning there will be a brunch beginning at 9:45 a.m., and Easter worship service at 11:00 a.m.  

The Weyburn Free Methodist Church will hold a service at 7:00 p.m. on Good Friday.

"Join Pastor Brian for a candle-light Communion Service as we remember Christ's death for us on the cross," invited Pastor Jody Pfeiffer. 

Then, on Sunday at 10:30 a.m., the WFMC will hold an Easter Sunday     service. 

"Come, worship and celebrate our risen Saviour together," Pfeiffer shared. "He is risen! He is risen indeed!"

The Calvary Baptist Community Church will begin their services Thursday at 6:00 p.m. with a live event, ‘Experience the Last Supper’. 

"With Jesus and the disciples, period costumes, appetizer foods, etc will help take you back to that original Holy Week," shared Pastor Tim MacKinnon. "All are welcome. It's free admission and a freewill offering will be available."

Then, on Sunday at 6:00 a.m. the CBCC will host a Sunrise Easter Service with a potluck breakfast to follow. "Come and bring your favourite breakfast dish to share."

The Zion Lutheran Church will host a Maudy Thursday Service tonight at 7:00 p.m., a Good Friday Worship Service with a Crucifixion Drama at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, and a Sunrise Meditation Service at 8:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday followed by a light breakfast. Then, they'll hold an Easter Morning Worship Service with Holy Communion and the youth drama, 'Is This Really The End Of The Story?' at 9:30 a.m.

The Grace United Church will hold a Good Friday Worship Service at 10:00 a.m. led by the children and youth, then an Easter Sunday Worship Service with Holy Communion at 10:30 a.m. (also Confirmation Sunday).

The Knox Presbyterian Church will host an Easter Service on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
