Three teams from Weyburn were in Moose Jaw for the Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association provincial championships on the weekend.

The 12U Weyburn Security Thrashers would open the tournament Friday with a 9-3 win over the Moose Jaw Mustangs. They followed this up with an 8-1 win over the Regina Queens to close out the round-robin. In the medal round, they beat the Swift Current Rampage in the semi-finals, setting up a game against the Regina Crossfire for the provincial title. It would be Regina coming out on top, though, holding off Weyburn for a 4-3 victory.

The 14U Young Fellow Thrashers opened the round-robin Thursday night with a 5-3 loss to the Moose Jaw Mustangs. They followed it up with a pair of wins, beating the Saskatoon Rush 10-3 and the Regina Waterdogs 3-0, to finish the round-robin with a record of 2-1. In the medal round, they would fall in the semi-finals to the Regina Axemen by a score of 10-2. They finished the tournament in the bronze medal game, coming up just short against the Regina Outlaws.

The 16U Panther Drilling Thrashers started their tournament off with a 9-2 loss to the Regina Snipers Friday afternoon, then played to a 7-7 draw against the Saskatoon Smash Friday evening. In the medal round, they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Swift Current Rampage, and would then take on the Smash again in the C-Side final. The Thrashers would come away with a 7-5 victory to get the C-Side title.
