Just ahead of the holidays, a Weyburn man has a little bit more jingle in his pocket.

SaskLotteries announced that Weyburn's Evan Colborn won $100,000 on the EXTRA in the LOTTO 6/49 draw on December 1st. He had purchased the ticket ahead of the draw at the 7-11 store at the intersection of 1st Avenue and Government Road.

Colborn had checked his ticket before work, saw he won $100,000, then headed to work.

“I checked my ticket on the Lotto Spot app,” he said while claiming his prize in Regina. “I was shocked. Completely shocked! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing so I went on with my regular routine.”

After work, he doubled checked the ticket where he bought it and claimed the prize in Regina.

As for plans with the money, Colborn stated he doesn’t have any specifics as of yet.
