The Weyburn Minor Softball Association will be hosting an upcoming Canpitch Clinic at the Weyburn Spark Centre on Saturday, March 25th.

The one-day pitching clinic will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on that day, and anyone born in 2015 or older can register (aged eight to 18).

A representative from Softball Saskatchewan will be running the clinic along with other volunteers, with each age group receiving about an hour of practice and instruction.

Whitney Johnson, Board Member of the Weyburn Minor Softball Association, said that,  "It's for the athlete's development, just to come and learn the proper way to pitch and work on their skills."

She explained that "In nine and under softball now, pitching is introduced, so it's a good way for everyone to come out and learn. It will take place throughout the day and it will be organized by age groups."

Registration is $15 per athlete, and payment will be due on the day of the clinic.

Johnson said that there are 28 spots available, with only about seven spots remaining.

Those interested in registering can email the name and birthdate of their athlete to Johnson at w.johnson@live.ca, and they will be contacted closer to their child's time slot.
