The Weyburn Police Service helped the Regina Police Service track someone down last week who was wanted in connection with a recent attempted homicide investigation.

Deputy Chief Brent VanDeSype said patrols were able to track him down and the Regina Police Service Came down to transport the man to Regina.

"We assist other agencies just like they would for us if we have an individual that's wanted on warrant status, or he's wanted for an investigation or anything like that. If we know their whereabouts, we reach out to that agency, and say, 'there's an individual in your area that is wanted for one reason or another by our service, and if you could, would you assist by locating them and taking them into custody?'

He said officers tracked down the man by checking various locations, and he was taken into custody.
